HB 0286 WAS TABLED AND WILL NOT BE FORWARED ON IN THE LEGISLATURE
After nearly 40 people spoke out against HB 286 which would have allowed for unlimited mountain lion hunting and trapping, the House Travel, Recreation, Wildlife, and Cultural Resources members did not vote to move the bill out of committee. Including one of the co-sponsors of the bill. We are tremendously pleased that the legislators listened to the people of Wyoming and agreed that unlimited hunting of mountain lions isn’t sound science or wildlife management.

HB 0331 WILL BE HEARD TONIGHT IN THE AGRICULTURE COMMITTEE – PLEASE REGISTER TO SPEAK!
We are asking for Wyoming supporters only right now to comment.
House Bill 331 will make it illegal to pursue and run down wildlife with a vehicle on public lands in Wyoming. While not perfect, and we think that it should be illegal everywhere, this bill will still protect a lot of animals in a lot of places. Wyoming is more than 50% public lands – both federal and state. Please tell the agriculture committee that now is the time to outlaw this practice because it is unethical because it causes unnecessary suffering and harm, the people of Wyoming have made it clear they want to outlaw it, and this behavior can normalize cruelty, especially if witnessed by children or others. It sets a harmful example that could influence others’ treatment of animals. There is every reason to pass this into law and no reason not to.
What HB 0331 will do:- Makes it illegal for people to pursue and run over wildlife with vehicles on public lands in Wyoming.
- Make it illegal to pursue and run over wildlife with vehicles on private land in Wyoming.
- Ask for it to include private lands too as this action anywhere constitutes animal cruelty and cruelty anywhere is not an acceptable practice.
