Letter Makes Big Press, Highlights Corruption

Along with 90 other organizations, WWA sent a letter to Secretary of the Interior David Bernhardt and the Department of the Interior requesting Pendley to resign or be removed as Bureau of Land Management deputy director of policy and programs, where he exercises the authority of the director. Pendley has been re-appointed by Secretary Bernhardt for an additional three months (ending April 3rd), but Pendley’s lack of credibility has been exposed and he was NOT nominated for Senate confirmation to lead the agency.

In addition to our letter, on Jan 2, local protesters in Grand Junction greeted Pendley as he showed up to start working at the new BLM headquarters there and a second group of conservationists sent a letter of their own to Congress on Jan. 2, also demanding Pendley’s removal.

Below is a list of the media that was generated from our letter and subsequent news stories.
