LEARN ABOUT THE THREATS FACING GRIZZLIES AND HOW YOU CAN HELP
Congress has grizzly bears in its crosshairs and we are stepping up the fight to keep Endangered Species Act protections in place and prevent anti-wildlife lawmakers from “delisting” the Great Bear.
Join expert speakers to learn the latest details about these threats, key lawmakers who could make a difference, and the resources available to help fight for keeping grizzly bears protected. They will be presenting materials including the latest action alerts, a guide for writing letters-to-the editor, sample social media posts, and core messages to effectively refute the disinformation being spread by hostile lawmakers and government agencies.
The webinar is sponsored by WildEarth Guardians, Wilderness Watch, Western Watersheds Project, Yaak Valley Forest Council, and the Sierra Club. WWA is proud to work alongside all these groups in an effort to protect grizzly bears.
There will be a recording of the webinar so even if you cannot attend tomorrow, register anyway and a recording will be emailed to you.
Because the American people value our public lands and want to see them protected, the Forest Service received over 625,000 comments on the option to rescind the Roadless Rule. Next, the Forest Service will decide to either pull the rule or keep the rule as is.
One analysis of the comments sent in found that 99% were against rescinding the rule. A majority of Wyomingites want to see land remain protected and not opened up to development. However, the Wyoming State Forestry Division, Wyoming’s Department of Environmental Quality, Wyoming State Parks, and the Saratoga-Encampment-Rawlins Conservation District were all in favor of returning management of these important lands back to local land managers.
